OWLS – We’re Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors who know how to enjoy food, fellowship and fun! We meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 11:30 – 2:00 in the church basement. A meal is provided for a cost of $5.00. We ask that those eating bring their own table service. (table service will be provided for those who forget) The basic schedule is: 11:30 – 12:00 is gathering time; 12:00 – 12:30 is meal time; 12:30 – 2:00 is “fun” time. Our “fun” is varied each month – in the past, we’ve played BINGO, played card games, had our handwriting analyzed, enjoyed travelogues, shared life stories, heard American Indian stories, made pet rocks, been entertained by quartets, choruses and piano performances to mention a few....the possibilities are endless! Anyone is welcome to join us. It helps in making the food preparations to know how many will be eating with us. So, please sign up in the narthex at church or call the church office prior to each month’s meeting.

September 19 - Come One, Come All!  Whether or not you think you’re older or wiser or livelier or a senior, you are guaranteed to enjoy the performance that will be given by the Harmony Handful!  A few Sundays ago, we got a small taste of the joyous harmony of this men’s Barbershop chorus directed by our own Jim Bagby.  Plan now to join us for lunch and this special performance.

October 17 - we’ll have our traditional Octoberfest with brats specially prepared by the Oberlanders, warm German potato salad and much, much more.

November 21 - Richard Gross, editor and media director at the Stained Glass Association of America located in Raytown,  will give a fascinating presentation about stained glass.

December 19 - pianist extraordinaire, Shelley Melewski, will perform selections from the Nutcracker Suite for us.

Plan now to join us every 3rd Wednesday from 11:30-2:00pm for a home cooked meal for $5.00 followed by a variety of activities.  (11:30 to noon is gathering time; we eat at noon)

BRPC Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors!

June 20—EVERYONE is invited  to come share a meal and hear our special guest speaker, Barbara Loots.   Barbara traveled to Pakistan in November of 2011 to visit with Veeda Javaid, Executive Director of the Presbyterian Education Board, other members of that board and several of the PEB schools.  She will bring pictures and a firsthand view of the work of the PEB in and around Lahore. In the light of the problematic relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan these days, the work of the PEB represents the best hope for peace in Pakistan and between our countries.

July 18—we’re having a summer picnic complete with fun games like Baggo and ring toss.
