After a tasty taco bar on August 21st, Pastor Pat swept us away to the interesting and beautiful country of Georgia with slides and stories of his family’s trip there this summer. Sign up the narthex to join in our future fun afternoons! September 18: Get out your bobby socks and poodle skirts. We’ll have a 1950’s inspired lunch. ‘50’s attire is encouraged (but optional). Then, Shelley Melewski will present one of her memorable piano programs. Her theme this year is 1950’s music. And since lyrics are an important part of what makes songs from that era special, some songs will be sung by members of our congregation as Shelley accompanies them. October 16: We will continue our tradition of celebrating Oktoberfest with the famous Oberlander preparation of brats, German potato salad, etc. Everyone will be part of our program that day. We’re asking that anyone who attends bring a poem or two (of any kind) to share with the group. These poetry days have proven to be filled with laughter and inspiration in past years. November 20: plans are undecided...but plan to come anyway, you know at a minimum, you’ll eat a home cooked meal for $5.00, get to visit with your friends and have some kind of fun activity. December 18: After a holiday feast, we’ll play Pass the Parcel—an English game where a “ball” of presents and some fun challenges is passed around and opened guided by the starting and stopping of music.
